MIS’ New Build value stream, MIS’ largest in terms of revenue, undertakes the construction of newbuild jack-ups, lift-boat and other large offshore structures.
In addition, the group offers a wide range of construction services in support of the energy sector to include FPSO, topsides and the construction of floating storage units.
In a highly competitive sector MIS occupies a strategic location in the UAE in one of the largest Oil and Gas markets in the world. The management team believes that the region can offer highly competitive labour rates when compared with other traditional oil and gas service areas around the world and as a direct result, present a highly attractive commercial proposition in the area of jack up construction.
MIS retains a highly skilled core workforce and has access to skilled labour when required from local resources.
HSE is a major focal point not only for New Build, but also the company as a whole and as a result ownership of Health and Safety objectives are clearly visible at all levels of the operation performance that has been formally recognized by the OHSAS Industry safety council in the last four consecutive years.
Track record:
The skill set and competence that MIS gained through its work on managing large scale projects, contributed greatly to the success of the MIS jack up programme initiated in 2006. This programme now includes seven Super M2 jack-up drilling units, of which the first three have been delivered; a 'first of class' design and the first actual jack-up drilling rig ever to be delivered from a Middle East rig building shipyard.
The New Build value stream as an autonomous business and features an international workforce and management team who can demonstrate a concise understanding of shipyard activities and rig building in particular.
